Lake Balaton is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe. The lake stretches over 77 kilometers in length and up to 14 kilometers in width, covering an area of around 600 square kilometers. Its depth varies, with the average depth being around 3.2 meters, and the deepest point being approximately 12 meters.
